My inspiration comes from the books I read, the people I meet on a daily basis and two brothers, Bradford and Bryan Manning.
In 2012, I was immediately thrown into a world totally foreign to me upon receiving my vision loss diagnosis. Shock, fear, self-worth and an unknown future were feelings unrolled before me.
Then, one day a friend called to tell me to turn on the telly and catch these two guys on Ellen DeGeneres. Thankfully, I did just that! I listened to their story. They have the same eye disease. Their passion, light spirit and sense of humour struck a chord within me. I no longer felt alone. The veil of fear lifted. They have given me a community and a place to fall when I need to be lifted.
I owe my courage to launch Say Hello 2 Blindness in great part to these two brothers. If I have anything to share, it is this…think about your inspirations in life’s journey. If they are sitting in front of you ‘say hello and thank them’. Rare is the person who does it alone.
Two Blind Brothers is a luxury clothing line on a mission to cure blindness. Founders Bradford and Bryan Manning were both diagnosed with an eye disease that causes blindness over time. This condition has inspired a special vigilance for details, a passion that carries over into the construction of their clothing line.Aug 28, 2018 www.twoblindbrothers.com
I'm very excited to share a response from The Two Blind Brothers upon reading my November Blog ‘Inspiration’!
Thanks so much for reaching out, and sharing your story and your blog - we think that is fantastic and are so honored to have been able to inspire you in such a way. We absolutely love hearing from people who have gone through similar challenges as we have or have loved ones that have. Science and technology have advanced so much over the last few years that we really are confident that finding a cure is not a question of IF but it's a question of when. The blog looks awesome and we LOVE the way you are rocking the Mind over Matter shirt in those photos!!
It means so much to us to receive your message and for your words of encouragement, and we wish you the best!
Thanks for joining us on our mission for a cure!
